Patricia Bibi holds a Masters in Sustainable Tourism from Southern Cross University, Australia and is currently enrolled as a PhD candidate at Massey University in New Zealand. Patricia is an indigenous Fijian woman with a passion to see grassroot indigenous communities be empowered and taking leadership roles in the areas of entrepreneurship. I am part of a research project focussing on agritourism. This work has enabled me to assist locals and indigenous entrepreneurs showcase their traditional crops and indigenous farming techniques through their farm tours and value-added products to visitors.
With a tourism background, my areas of research have been indigenous women’s empowerment through tourism, socio economic impacts of tourism on local communities and agritourism in the Pacific.
