Laurana Rakau Tokataake holds a Bachelor of Arts in Tourism and Management & Public Administration and has had experience working in both the private and public sector. Laurana experience in the private sector ranged from working on board the P&O Cruise line Pacific Jewel to Assistant Manager for several resorts. Laurana experience in the public sector has also given her a firm understanding of Government’s role in sustainable destination management. Laurana assisted with the development of the Vanuatu Sustainable Tourism Policy (2019-2030) through her role as Senior Project Officer for the Vanuatu Strategic Tourism Action Plan Implementation Unit (VSTAP). She later became the Project Coordinator of VSTAP which is now known as the Vanuatu Tourism Assistance Program (VTAP), a project unit that overlooks tourism projects funded by the Nez Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). Laurana’s is now Operations Manager for Regenerative Vanua overseeing all of the program managers and consultants within the organisation.
