Jerry Spooner holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Business, a Diploma in Business Management and has over 16 years’ experience in both the private sector and Government. During his time as Director of Tourism, he was instrumental in leading the transition of Vanuatu’s pathway towards a more sustainable and regenerative tourism industry though the development of policy and strategies linked to the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). Jerry is very proud of the Pacific’s rich Island food culture and has a strong passion towards developing and supporting agritourism and food tourism in Vanuatu. Jerry see’s the potential of Agritourism and food tourism in the Pacific not as a niche form of tourism but as a behaviour change and resilience strategy to support livelihoods and have more meaningful participation of Pacific people in tourism.
